Vincenzo Dovì was born on the 21st of Otober1948. He is married and has one son. He is presently Professor of Theory of Process Development at the University of Genova (Italy). He graduated in Chemical Engineering in 1972 and obtained a second Doctor’s Degree in Physics in 1978. Vincenzo Dovì speaks fluently English, French, German and Spanish and has a good working knowledge of Russian. He worked (1977-1978) with Tecnimont SpA, (1978-1981) with EMBL (Heidelberg , Federal German Republic) and with CEA (Fontenay-aux-Roses, France) (1981-1982). Since 1982 he is professor of Theory of Process Development at the University of Genova. He is also a member of the Interuniversity Research Centre H.T.R and co-ordinator of University of Genova H.T.R. group. He is Honorary Professor at the Universidad Industrial de Santander and Visiting Professor at the Mendeleev University in Moscow. He is a member of the Global Climate Forum, of the Desertec Association and of the Russian Academy of Technological Sciences. He has been President of the European Section of the International Environmetrics Society (1994-2002), scientific advisor of the Italian Embassy in Berlin and is presently in the Board of Committee for the Italian scientists abroad set up by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his activity as scientific advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he participated in several Interministerial Conferences as Member of the Italian Delegation, was Head of the Italian Delegation in one Interministerial Conference on the Eureka Programme and Sherpa in one G8 Science Meeting (Carnegie Meeting). He has served as reviewer in the European Framework Programmes and in the EuropeAid Programme. He has been (1994-2002) in the Editorial Board of the journal Environmetrics (edited by J. Wiley) and is a referee for several international journals, including: - Energy - Applied Energy - Resources, Conservation and Recycling - Chemical Engineering Science - Computers & Chemical Engineering - Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Fundamentals He is the author of over one hundred articles and five books (in Russian) in the areas of his competence. He has organised two International Conferences (Environmetrics, Genova 2002) and “International collaboration for the deployment of renewable energies in the Mediterranean”, Berlin 2008, as well as several national conferences and workshops. Furthermore he has been in the Organising Committes of all Environmetrics Conferences from 1991 o 2002 and of the PRES Conferences from 2002 to 2010. Vincenzo Dovì has participated in four European projects of the 5th and 6th European Framework Programme as contact point for the team of the University of Genova and in five TEMPUS-TACIS project in the Russian Federation and Azerbaijian. He was the coordinator of one of them: “Management and Logistics in the Gas&Oil Sector” in the Russian Federation (JEP- 21081-2000) and is presently participating in the FP7 project “Energy efficiency demonstration in manufacturing industry” (EFENIS) and in the Eureka project LILIEX.
